The International Society for Organization Development (The ISOD) is a non-profit association organized to promote the understanding and dissemination of information about organization development. Organization development is defined as the knowledge and skills necessary to implement planned change while recognizing that unplanned change is a constant part of our world. We use behavioral science to help us build greater organizational effectiveness.
The ISOD provides information about resources in the field of organization development including practitioners working or studying in the field, information about educational and academic programs, networks, and organizations involved with organization development around the world.
The ISOD is international and promotes the development of local chapters throughout the world in order to support and promote: The knowledge and skills necessary for organization development competencies
• The development of standards for organization development practitioners
• The development of standards for organization development and organization behavior academic programs
• The International Organization Development Code of Ethics
The ISOD strives to reach these objectives by continuing to publish a 27 year old, well-respected, quarterly peer reviewed journal, The Organization Development Journal (OD Journal)
• To publish and recognize significant organization development research
• To create a monthly newsletter for information sharing
• To promote national and international conferences which bring together people from all over the world to share their work, research, and practice information with one another in a collegial environment
